The crisis brought about by the pandemic of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has once again highlighted what should be a self-evident truth: Businesses are entities inextricably linked to the societies in which they operate. Therefore, they constantly influence and are themselves influenced by current events, and they must acknowledge and take on their responsibility toward society as a whole.

Koskinidis Packaging considers corporate social responsibility a top priority, especially during this current crisis. From the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak in Greece, Koskinidis Packaging immediately responded by prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of its people. From mid-March, when the restrictive measures were introduced, Koskinidis Packaging took the necessary steps to thoroughly disinfect all of its facilities and also took all necessary measures to ensure that the majority of employees were able to work from home. At the same time, Koskinidis Packaging immediately came to an agreement with a private laboratory to fully cover the cost of COVID-19 testing for employees, while the company also looked for ways to contribute to health needs in Greece.

For this reason, the management of Koskinidis Packaging wishes to support the doctors, nurses and administrative staff of G. Gennimatas General Hospital in by donating 12,300 high quality FFP2 surgical masks, in order to contribute to the current needs of our country’s health system, while following the vision and honoring the high sense of social responsibility of the company’s founder, Stylianos S. Koskinidis. Delivery of the material is expected within the next 10-15 days.

The donation is made in memory of the company’s founder, Stylianos S. Koskinidis., who passed away at G. Gennimatas Hospital in January 2019, despite the best efforts of doctors and nurses.

In a letter dated April 16, 2020, the Director of Administrative Serviceσ of G. Gennimatas General Hospital, Argyro Papachristou, accepted the donation and expressed her warm thanks for the donation of the surgical masks on behalf of the board of directors.
